Service des Oisea (South American birds service) was a present of King Charles X to the Duchesse d'Angoulême, only surviving child of Louis
XVI and Marie-Antoinette.
In the center of each plate on a white ground is a South American bird standing on a perch composed of seed pods, leaf scrolls and other
formal motifs. Each encloses a medallion on which is written the name of the bird. A gold band encircles the inner edge of the rim which is
painted with a vine composed of plants from each bird's habitat.
