The players of the gallant orchestra were created between 1750 and 1760 by Johann Joachim Kaendler and
Friedrich Elias Meyer. By the charming figuration of the soloists, who are playing their instruments with grace,
they give a true picture of the music-loving 18th century.
The Meissen artists found living models for the gallant figurines of the orchestra in the Dresden opera which was
world-renowned already at that time.
The figures were reproduced in the second half of 19th century. Each is about 5 1/2" high.
